Cindy's POV

"Mom! Dad!," I rushed into my apartment and quickly search for my parents.
"What's the matter, Cindy? You ran away? Shouldn't you still in Seinze?," ask Mom.
"Nah! The test is finished. That's why I rush here. I wanna tell you something."
"What is it? Something important?," ask Dad.
"They just found out that I have two elements, so I don't need to do other tests. I just need to come back there in a few days so I can sign the contract."
Mom and Dad looked very surprised, even Dad accidentally dropped the box that he's holding to. When I saw that, I quickly use my power to make the box fly and put it down safely.
"Is it fire and wind?," ask Dad, who has more knowledge about elements rather than Mom.
"Yes, you're right. The principal was very shocked because fire and wind are from different base."
"She must be. Different elements have different powers, yet different bases have different functions. Black is attack, white is defense. Imagine you have those two functions in your hand. If you practice hard, you'll be unbeatable."
Cindy Laurent, you really are something.

***

    "Woah! Ahh!!!"
I hit the ground hardly. It hurts.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm really sorry!," said the person who hit me. He helped me to stand up and bowed deeply.
"It's okay, not a big deal," I replied.
"Here. Use this to clean your shorts." He gave me a pack of tissue. I swept the dirts that stick on my shorts.
    "Thanks."
"Where are you going? You're not wearing uniforms. You can't be a student."
"I'm going to the central office. I'm a new student."
"New student? Just a week after the entrance ceremony?"
"I just moved here. So I did the test late, either enter this school."
    "Where are you from?"
Why is this guy so curious about knowing other people's business?!, I shouted inside my heart.
    "Rusch," I answered.
    "Woah! That's far!"
    "Yeah..."
    "Hey! You're a S
ylph
?!" His loud voice surprised me.
"Sylph? What's Sylph?," I asked, still surprised.
    "Your ear
r
ings," he touched his and point at mine. "It's the same as mine. I can't believe that I can meet a girl Sylph! For years, Sylph is men."
    "I know nothing about it."
He looked at me with his I-can't-believe glaze. "You really don't know?"
I shook my head left and right to show him that I really have no clue about what he's talking about. He dragged me and flew.
"Hey! Put me down!," I shouted.
He kept himself silent. Just a moment after that, he flew towards a huge garden maze.
"Hey! What are you planning to do?!" And a second after I shouted, we landed in the middle of the maze.
    "Sit," he said.
"Where? On the grass?," I asked. He nodded.
I sat down quietly, followed by him.
"My name is Christian Russel, a defender Sylph."
"I'm Cindy Laurent, have no clue about what Sylph is."
He laughed. "You really don't know what Sylph is?"
    "No."
"Sylph are wind guardians for the Queen of elements, Sarah Williams. Separated into defender Sylph and Attacker Sylph, their duty is to protect the Queen. These ea
rrings," He pointed at his and mine. "Are the symbol of Sylph, passed down from generation to generation. Who gave you those ear
rings?"
"I don't know. It's already there since I realized that it's there. Maybe my father gave it to me when I was still a baby."
    "Well... Then you're a Sylph."
"I'll ask my father later, but I really need to go to the central office now." I looked at my watch and found out that I'm 15 minutes late.
"Oh! I'm sorry! I really forgot! I'll take full responsibility!," Christian stood up and lifted me.
    "Hey!"
He started to fly so fast that when I open my eyes a few seconds later, I already arrived in the central office.
"So, I guess we'll meet next week in the wind academy? Bye, Cindy!," He waved his hand and flew away.
Wind academy? With my dual elements, there's still a chance that I may stuck in the fire academy instead.

***

    "Both?"
"Yes, exactly. With your reputation as a Sylph, you must enter the wind academy. But, to think that you also has fire element that will support your wind element, we decided to put you on fire academy too."
"And how can I manage to follow the classes?," I asked.
"You don't need to worry about that." The principal smiled. "First week and third week : Monday, Wednesday and Friday you'll study in wind academy, Tuesday and Thursday in fire. Second week and fourth week : Monday, Wednesday and Friday you'll study in fire academy, Tuesday and Thursday in wind," she explained.
    "What a troublesome."
"Well... You must do your best to maximize each of your elements."
    "Yeah... I know."
"So, see you next week, I guess? Your uniform will arrive at your apartment tomorrow."
"I'll get 2 uniforms for different academies?"
    "No. Yours special."
I raised my left eyebrow. "Well, it's all up to you. I got a scholarship though. See you, ma'am." I flew back home.
